Aleah is so naturally gorgeous!!! She is a total head turner with those blue eyes, blonde hair and her beautiful smile. I’m so glad I got to do her senior photoshoot because she is actually a 2019 senior. My senior photoshoots really blew up in the most blessed way this past year and I was completely booked when I got her request. She was willing to wait for me and do them this summer and I love her for that!
Check out the fun we had a The Waffle House too! I always like to show the individual personalities of my seniors so I asked Aleah if she had a favorite place. I was all in when she said her happy place was The Waffle House! Any senior photoshoot that includes a chocolate chip waffle break while getting pretty pictures taken sounds like a win to me. Plus it was nice to get out of the heat and get some A/C because Alabama summers are hot! Also, there are some cute ones that her boyfriend Josh jumped in on. I think having fun with a friend, boyfriend or family member that tags along is a great way to loosen up, feel comfortable and catch your authentic happy self! The day is 100% about you, but if they can assist in getting those big ole smiles then I’m all about it!
I loved getting to capture this beauty! I’ve been following Lydia on Instagram for a couple of years always admiring her bomb makeup skills. She is seriously a master at applying all the products. When she messaged me about doing her senior photoshoot I was so excited.
Lydia is going to be going to Paul Mitchell Cosmetology school this fall and that could not be a more perfect choice. As I already described above she is the bomb dot com at all that jazz. Aside from capturing her adorable self, I really just enjoyed getting to know her too. She is an artsy soul with a really big heart. My kinda people. This shoot was overall wildly successful but my favorites are at the end when we decided to have some fun at Krispy Kreme. I think those photos have a “Riverdale” vibe. That’s what I was kind of going for too. ?
My first 2020 Senior of the year!! Nia and her mom go to church with me so we’ve been talking about her senior photoshoot for a while now. I wanted to kick the year off with something new so we went to the Huntsville Botanical Garden. All the flowers there are so gorgeous! It made for the best spot! And now I want to go back there next chance I get. Only catch is that the botanical garden charges one hundred dollars per two hours of photographing in there if you are a professional photographer. That does include entrance for four people too. It’s regularly $14 per person to get in so it’s not a huge difference but still an increase for sure!
Anyways, it was totally worth the drive to Huntsville because Nia’s photos are ohhhhh so pretty as can be! I really love down town Huntsville too. Nia did The Beatles walk across the street and it was hilarious! You should have seen us trying to dodge cars to get those fun pictures. My shoots always end in laughter and I wouold’t have it any other way! ?
Some girls are just born with on fire model moves and Lizzy is one of those girls. I always have poses for those I’m photographing so you’re never lost. I make sure you always know what to do with your hands! hahahaha. But there are those who just take my initial poses and then just start moving into other poses like a perfectly planned dance. I’m so impressed with not only how gorgeous Lizzy is but her modeling skills. She just set my camera on fire.
I also loved her sunflowers themed idea. I have had requests for sunflower field photoshoots but sunflowers aren’t in bloom until fall but that wasn’t going to stop Lizzy. She showed up with her own bouquet of Sunflowers completely confident that we could nail the look. Absolutely loved it and the sunflower photographs look amazing. For those of you who are photographers, I held one of the sunflowers slightly in front of the camera to get the idea that we are peaking through a field of flowers.
How cute is Amelia!!! This gorgeous girl is going to be studying interior design when she goes off to college. I’m sure she will do amazing because I remember always seeing her in the art room when I was still teaching. She has the prettiest blue eyes and I had the best time capturing them last week. Her senior photoshoot was so fun.
I’m just way into these sunsets lately. This weekend I’m headed to the beach and I can’t wait to enjoy some beautiful warm beach sunsets. Those are just fantastic. Until then I’m glad I got to hang with Amelia by the water. It was a gorgeous evening to be out with my camera.
Reagan Gargis rocks yellow converse better than anyone else I know. She told me her favorite color is yellow and I’m starting to think I’m just on a trend of attracting like-minded people. They say your vibe attracts your tribe. Well that is soooo true because I love the color yellow. I drove a yellow car for a long time and even got made fun of for it. My friends dad said it was the ugliest car he had ever seen. ? It really wasn’t a sports car and it’s coolness factor was struggling but I loved that it was yellow. And my the peeps at my last several shoots have all told me their favorite color is yellow! So shout out to my girls who love yellow! #teamyellow
Reagan is totally on team yellow and in this colorful awesome tribe. I had such a great time getting to talk to her about how great her senior year has been at DHCA. Now she is about to start another chapter in her life when she goes off to college and I know she is going to do fabulously. This girl is strength and beauty rolled up into one gorgeous little body! ?????? flurries of love for Reagan!!
Rebecca is using every crayon in the coloring box and I’m all in! We met up earlier this week to for her senior photoshoot and we had so much fun. She told me how I was exactly how she imagined I would be and how much she loved my bright colorful work. Needless to say, we hit it off quickly and I’m so glad that my in-person self lived up to my online presence. hahahaha. Sometimes it’s hard to showcase personalities through all these forms of social media and technology. My personality is seriously like every emoji!!! I’m excited, hungry, dancing, wondering, photographing, smiling, laughing, and all the feels in like a milli second.
Back to Rebecca, she is just too cute though! And speaking of personalities, hers is bomb. She was up for anything and her bestie Katie even dropped by. I love when friends show up because no one can make you feel comfortable and get you laughing like your best friend can. When I photograph my peeps I want them to be their authentic awesome selves. No one wants a bunch of pictures that make you look like your mom dragged you out for your first day of fourth grade picture! However, power to the moms because I’m totally making my son stand awkwardly on the porch for first day of school pictures until he is like ninety! hahahaha. Although when I’m doing a senior photoshoot I want you to feel like were just having fun and there isn’t even a camera there. I will use gum, bubbles, glitter, confetti, best friends and whatever else I need to so that you’ll chill and have fun! Thank you Becca for being so beautiful and having fun with me! ❤️ya pretty lady! ?
Reagan Gowen (and I have to say her last name, because I have Reagan Gargis coming up soon too ?) is a pro!!! Total pro!!! These pictures look so magical. A few of them have such vibrant yellowy gold hues that I feel like Reagan is actually Tinker Bell! I don’t know if you ever grow out of wanting to be a princess, but Reagan looks high royalty to me. Can’t you just imagine her castle is just off to the side. hahahaha. I know i’m getting carried away but I’m just 100% in awe of these photos and how stunning Reagan is.
It could also be that I just love Reagan anyways. I got to know her while I was coaching the DHCA soccer team a couple of years ago. Sometimes we would ride together to and from games and I got the opportunity to really hear about her heart for Jesus. We both love to journal and just had so much fun talking about writing books, her dreams and how we one day wanted to go out and take pictures. That’s why this was so special because we both remembered us talking about doing this and seeing it happen was just wonderful. Getting to see Reagan go for her dreams is the best. This girl is so kind, caring and beautiful. I’m so glad I get to know her and see all she does as she goes off to college. She is going to succeed in whatever she chooses. ❤️
Luisa is what sunshine and candy is made of! She is ohhhhh so sweet with the most sunny disposition. I was in photography heaven while photographing this gorgeous girl. She has been winning pageants since she was little and after meeting her I have a feeling that I just met the future Miss Universe! Don’t forget me when your famous Luisa!!! ; )
Also, Another thing I loved about her senior photoshoot was her glam yellow dress. I’ve recently been mastering the art of editing yellow. The color yellow is actually a challenging color to edit because you want those bright yellow shades but you don’t want to then get yellow looking skin or teeth…. Not good. But I believe I nailed it! Gorgeous yellow hues and golden skin tones! Bring on all the yellow folks! I’m ready for it! hahahaha
Jane Hollis is totally my kindred spirit. This girl loves everything bright and colorful and sooooo do I! Her favorite color is yellow and that bright golden color is at the top of my list too. Needless to say I had a blast doing Jane’s senior photoshoot. When you look through her photos you can’t help but be happy and feel her energy. This cartwheeling, confetti blowing and tongue stick-out girl is ball of joy. She is way too cute and I’m so excited for her next chapter in life. Alabama is lucky to have her.
