Guess who is back rocking it out again? Emily the fabulous! I was so excited when Emily scheduled a second senior photoshoot with me. She had so much fun at the last one that she wanted to get pictures with her soccer uniform and her cap n gown! Last time we had fun with glitter, but this time we had fun throwing around her cap and her ball!
It’s so awesome getting to work with repeat clients because we just roll right into it like long time friends. Connecting with my seniors is my favorite part of every session. It’s through getting to know them that I’m able to showcase their unique selves! Love this girl!

I had a great time taking Hawken’s senior photos on Sunday. He is incredible on the track field so it was fun capturing him in his element. This boy can run and jump really high! I did my best to keep up! ? He also showed me a great photo spot next to Hartselle High School’s track. I could have hung out in that area all day!
These photos were also extra special because Hawken’s dad was my husbands boss for a few years. It has been such a privilege getting to know this sweet family. We visited their house for a bible study and Hawken’s dad saved us a couple of years ago when a tree fell in our yard. We were so grateful when he showed up and helped Michael chop it up and carry it off. Life is certainly better with great friends & a great community!
I have a confession! Photographing redheads is my favorite!!! Especially redheads with gorgeous green eyes! Erin could legit be a model & then she would be famous & then obviously I would have to be her personal photographer. We would then be traveling to exotic places so she could do model things while I capture it all. But then we would crave bbq, college football, monogrammed accessories, sweet tea and all the other southern staples. Bless our hearts, guess will have to stick around. ???
For real though, I had the BEST time with Erin this past weekend taking her senior photos. She is super sweet and incredibly photogenic. I love the woodsy vibes in her pictures for the second two outfits. She can pull off any look though. After I meet up with my senior’s, I continue to follow them online and I can’t wait to see her do well in college next year too. She is such gem! ❤️
Doing a happy dance over how fantastic Jillian’s senior photoshoot went! I wish I could say that my happy dance was in fancy ballet pointe shoes, but nope. I did not get the gift of coordination & rhythm, but I always say that what I lack in talent I make up for in spirit! ? I’m a very high energy horrible dancer, but I do it with a smile. That’s got to count for something.
This gorgeous girl however is sooo incredibly talented. Plus she is just as sweet as she is beautiful. The day we met up was so nice with the best weather. You never know what you are going to get on a senior shoot scheduled in December, but I’m extra grateful for the warmer days we’ve had. And I’m even more grateful for the opportunity to capture these fabulous senior photos of Jillian.
Photographing this musically talented guy was a great way to start off my week and get back into the swing of things after being out of town for Thanksgiving break. He pulled out his guitar during his shoot and I was so pumped about it! I seriously love incorporating what ya’ll love into your sessions. And I don’t have a musical bone in my body so getting to hear him play and snap pictures was just fantastic!
It was a chilly and cloudy day when we met up, but I really do enjoy a good winter photography session. Cloudy weather is great for photographing gorgeous waterside scenery. I find cloudy & sunny days are both amazing for beautiful photos. They both have their own beauty. The only thing that is a game stopper is a consistent downpour of rain or if the it’s so cold that the wind chill makes your eyes water. This day was super great and all of Lathan’s photos turned out wonderful!
Layne is sweeter than all the yummy chocolate chip waffles covered in gooey syrup in the world! I had a fantastic time with this beautiful blondie the week before last. Her blue eyes are just AMAZING and I loved getting to capture her contagious smile too! She was full of so many ideas for her senior photoshoot and I’m so glad that I can say we nailed them all!!! I call Layne’s senior photoshoot, “The Ultimate Decatur Alabama Experience.”
I call it that because it is full of nearly every iconic spot you would see on the back of a high school t-shirt including cap n’ gown photos in front of the recently built Decatur High School. We were literally scaling rocks to get the best shot of her in front of the iconic Decatur Bridge. We were doing this while her mom let us know to watch out for alligators!!! There is a reason I pray before every shoot! hahahahaha. This senior photoshoot with Layne was worth all the efforts because I’m in love with all her photos! The rain, rocky cliffs, alligators and traffic couldn’t stop this magic from happening!
Olivia is made of sugar, spice and everything nice. This girl was a total ball of the happiest energy. Her smile was always going strong and her style was on point too! We had so much fun just running into the street and seeing how many shots we could get before traffic forced us back to safety. Speaking of safety, her mom was there to keep a watch out for us, but I do think my senior shoots are for the “adventurous!” hahahaha, If I ask you to sign a waiver it’s only a formality, nothing to worry about… hahahah JK! We just always have a blast around here.
I really did just enjoy getting to know Olivia so much. It was so great getting to hear about her plans for college and what she hopes to do in the next chapter of her life. I know she is going to definitely do amazing at whatever she goes for. This girl has positive vibes that are going to take her only good places. Love her!
Kayla seriously blew my mind with her modeling skills! I always position my seniors in different poses so they don’t have to worry about a thing. However, some of my senior just go rogue with their own moves and I’m just snapping my camera in awe! Kayla was one of those individuals. I would put her into the initial pose and then she would just be moving around striking pose after pose. It was amazing and I’m so impressed.
She is in theatre and show choir so being confident in front of others is something she has obviously practiced. That confidence totally paid off because Kayla totally killed it during her senior photoshoot. Every single one of her photos is stunning. I’m in love with them all. Plus I love the meaning behind the flannel shirt she chose to wear for one of her outfits. It was her grandfathers flannel who passed away and a way for her to commemorate him. I love that. And I have so much love for Kayla. I look forward to seeing only good things from this beautiful girl as she graduates high school and takes on college.
I first met this gorgeous brunette while take photos of her during prom last year. I thought she was so cute and sweet that when she wanted me to do her senior photos I was super pumped! This time she showed up with her mom and her close friend Zoey and I got to experience even more of her fun personality. Close friends always get the best laughs and authentic reactions. And I always love that.
Chloe let me know that she was known for winking and it was such a good time just letting her be silly and capture it all. I put her in poses, but when she just started being a total ham was when she truly lit up. Also, I love how she just beats to her own drum. She had such a unique and adorable style. Her shoes are bomb and her personality is dynamite. This pretty girl did fantastic and I look forward to watching her doing great at college next year.
First of all, I’m obsessed with how adorable & beautiful Victoria is! Secondly, I’m SUPER obsessed with her ballet photos!!! I mean like over the moon crazy in love with them! I was the little girl who wanted to be a ballerina when I grew up so I was all about it when she asked if she could get some in her ballet attire. YES, I practically screamed through an email in response. ? And not to leave you all hanging on what happened to my ballerina ambitions… well it didn’t work out. ? I’m glad I got to vicariously live through Victoria because she has all the skills in that department.
All in all, I just had such a great time meeting Victoria and getting to photograph her sweet little self. She was seriously like having a life size barbie to pose in different positions. This girl couldn’t take a bad photo if she tried and she has a heart of gold. ❤️❤️❤️
