Tasha just left yesterday after spending five fun days hanging out with Michael and I in Alabama. Tasha is one of my oldest friends and obviously one of the most beautiful too. We met in High School when we started playing soccer together and I would like to say that it was love at first sight, but that wasn’t the case.
We actually have such similar personalities that we sometimes bump heads because of it. As adults we’ve learned to appreciate this and be respectful when we start to agitate the other, but in grade school we were all drama.
One of my favorite things about Tasha is her commitment to the people she loves. Through thick and thin, this girl will always be by her friends side. I’ve seen her display that same determination with her family and work relationships as well.
Another thing I love about Tasha is her unwillingness to settle. She is an ambitious go-getter who will stop at nothing to achieve her dreams. She only pushes harder and goes farther when doubters and naysayer start criticizing her. I’ve watched her dismiss the haters when she decided to take a cross country bicycle trip that remembered the Cherokee Native American’s Trail of Tears. I watched her prove everyone wrong who didn’t think she would win the title of Miss Northeastern State University. And I watched her shock us all when she moved to China for a year! Can you say scary?!
Tasha is just incredible and I know that God has BIG plans for her life. The things I just mentioned above are just the warm-up stretches to the dance of her life. As for me, I’ll be sitting front row screaming my head off as God continues to shine his light through her.
Today she is home in Oklahoma and although I’m happy she is where God has placed her, I sure do miss her. My morning coffee is always better with splash of cream, a dash of sugar and a whole bunch of Tasha.
